Music, Film, Art and MR Guitars NAMM 2024

Hello everyone, I made it just in time to wish you all a Happy New Year. My hope in these blog posts if for you to feel inspired, be informed and remember to enjoy your life. If you see a blue highlighted word, you are able to click on it and learn more about any chosen Having been able to relocate this month, I am thrilled to be closer to the entertainment industry. Thank you for celebrating music, film, art and legacy with me this year and beyond.

My year started off playing in a splendid concert with The Olympia Youth Philharmonic. Fung Ho and his orchestras have been such a joy to work with, I have loved our long standing musical relationship for our 10 years now. He always puts on wonderful concerts at The San Gabriel Mission Playhouse or email Cleo DeOrio, the playhouse operations director directly with booking inquiries at cderorio@sgch.org which I highly recommend booking one of your concerts, a rehearsal, your next mixer, or even your next private screening there. This beautiful and historic theatre holds a capacity of 1,700 people. Please make sure to visit Luna's restaurant or Factory Tea Bar next door to that, just across the street from the Playhouse. I am also really looking forward to performing with two horn legends themselves this month, Jerry Folsom, former principal horn of the LA Philharmonic and Warren Gref, former principal horn of the San Diego Symphony playing a lot of Mozart, some Chopin and Tchaikovsky.

I'm sure several of you reading this as well as the Green Room Enterprise team is patiently awaiting the start of NAMM this January 25th-28th. We are thrilled to share booth 6812 with GEWA distributors, celebrating luthier Manuel Rodriguez Guitars, a longstanding 118 legacy of Flamenco and Classical guitars as well as Cajon's and Ukulele's. Please come and visit us if you are attending NAMM this year to learn more about what we offer and all there is to come in 2024 and beyond in the music, film, art and of course the Flamemco/Classical guitar world. Perhaps you will get a chance to meet or even play with Pablo Ortiz himself, coming all the way from Costa Rica. Please enjoy some wonderful moments captured at Green Room 180 and around the world, including part of an interview with Manuel Rodriguez: https://youtu.be/VC0H2joOLNo There is a very special benefit concert happening on Sunday, January 28th International Guitar Concert: "Peace through Music" 6pm located at University of La Verne, Morgan Hall. It is a benefit for the music for life alliance, it will be a relatively intimate guitar night in a nice hall, and we expect it will be a very special event: https://murielanderson.com/product/tickets-and-season-pass/jan-28th-la-verne-ca/

But the best event is last.  Our annual open house this year is The Makers Forum.  Miel Adams, head of Adams Brass in the Netherlands, will be here to talk tech, talk instrument making and show off samples of his newest trumpets, flugels, trombones and euphoniums.  Andi Keller, head of daCarbo instruments in Switzerland, will show his latest ChangeMaker and other carbon fiber models.  Our friend and renown brass maker Robb Stewart will likely attend.  We'll have more special guests.  (Trombonist Miles Anderson couldn't make it - he's getting married and traveling through China, but hopes we can get on without him.)

We have all the new Getzen and Edwards pro trombones in stock just for this event:  1047NFR, 3047AF, 4047ET, 4147IB, T396-AR, B502-IY.  We have the new Adams TB1 and TB1H Hagmann models, plus the Adams Glassl model alto trombones.  We have the full set of K&H Bart Van Lier tenor trombones.  Plus trumpets and flugels by Adams, B&S, daCarbo, Getzen-Edwards, horns by Alexander, Hans Hoyer, Paxman and Engelbert Schmid, and tubas by Miraphone, Gronitz and Alexander.

Please tell your students and studios, come say hello to friends and colleagues.
